When we were doing research on wood-fired brick ovens, we came across stories of bakeries offering  pizza alongside their baked goods.  This appealed to us.  As we were building the brick oven in spring of 2002, friends suggested baking pizza as well!  Upon completion of the oven in July, we set out a few simple, hand painted signs along the highway advertising  pizza on Fridays.  People came to order pizza to take with them. One evening some friends came from 1/2 hour away expecting to have a pizza party on the farm. This sent us scurrying for a table and chairs perfect for the 4 seniors in the group.  That was the start of the pizza picnics on the farm!  We headed to the store to purchase tables, chairs, and umbrellas. The invitation was extended to come and have a picnic on the farm. We have never regretted it!  The interest remains strong and is growing. Come be our guests!
